Conway Group Healthcare is continuing its investment in the local area, with the imminent opening of a specialised Dementia Suite, as part of a newly refurbished wing of its Kilkeel care home.
The existing Ground Floor Wing has being upgraded to accommodate the increasing demand for specialist Residential Dementia care in the local area. Conway Group Healthcare’s decision to invest in the refurbishment of the wing has been taken to meet the needs of local families and to fulfil its commitment to the local community.
Director of Conway Group Healthcare Jarlath Conway explained:
“Our new suite allows us to extend the level of care we currently offer. Alongside high quality Residential and Nursing Care, we will now be able to provide the specialist Residential Dementia care that is being sought by local families in the Mourne area. This unit will be accommodated within our existing Care Home which we established over twenty years ago. Quality of care, understanding, compassion and dignity remains paramount to Conway Group Healthcare”.
Situated on the ground floor, the nine bed unit has been custom designed to meet the specific needs of residents with Dementia, and has been sympathetically incorporated within the existing home. A safe and secure outdoor garden is directly accessible through the new wing, with carefully landscaped and planted areas designed to maximise sensory awareness.
The unit has been fitted with ergonomically designed fixtures and furniture, and decorated to offer a warm, homely and safe environment for residents and their families. Residents will have access to an exclusive dayroom and dining facilitiy to enjoy with their families.
Brooklands Kilkeel is one of seven homes owned and operated by the Conway Group across Northern Ireland and brings together the experience and expertise of leading healthcare professionals providing high quality nursing and residential healthcare for more than twenty years.
